The internet betting market in the UK has increased two fold in five years, with higher than a million punters regularly wagering using the web. According to research carried out by the Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport, English bettors make up approximately 1/3rd of Europe’s approximated total of 3 300 000 net bettors.
The average sum bet by every bettor is approximated at one thousand pounds, with the European industry now valued at £3.5bn each year.
Amongst the 70 net betting casinos in the United Kingdom, few are gambling sites promoting card games like poker and blackjack. A majority of the world’s two thousand web wagering casinos are based in locations with dubious net wagering standards. Antigua and Costa Rica account for more than one thousand casinos between them.
The Gov’t in the United Kingdom is hoping to introduce procedures and a tax setup to manage the functioning of the online gambling industry. With this type of regulatory framework in place, internet wagering activities would be observed and the business can hope to achieve even greater heights in the next few years.
